14.2 Phenomenon
The machine charges very slowly, and only a small amount of power can be charged after a long time.
For example: The machine has been staying at the charging pile for a relatively long time, but the battery level increase is significantly lower than the normal level.
14.3 Possible Reasons
- Use a charging extension cord
An extension cord increases the line resistance, which restricts the current and reduces the charging power, thus slowing down the charging process.
-
Poor contact of charging contacts
- Insufficient contact area between the charging shrapnel and the charging contact of the device;
- Contaminants, oxidation or foreign matters are present on the contact surface;
- Abnormal position of the charging shrapnel results in insufficient contact pressure;
- Abnormal machine docking position results in incomplete contact of the contacts.
-
Excessive charging contact resistance
Poor contact of the contacts will increase the resistance of the charging circuit, which in turn reduces the actual charging current, manifested as a significantly slower charging speed. Similar cases have also been reported in user communities, where the charging power was restored after cleaning and reconnecting once abnormal resistance in the charging circuit was detected.
-
Charging pile abnormality
- Abnormal power supply of the charging pile;
- Overcurrent detected by the charging pile;
- Water ingress/excessive humidity detected by the charging pile;
- Abnormality in the charging pile firmware or control logic.
- Weak solder joints on the back side of the mower's charging contacts.
14.4 Troubleshooting Steps
It is recommended to troubleshoot in the following order:
Charging pile + extension cord:
- Confirm whether to use the charging pile extension cord
- Check whether the charging contacts of the machine and the charging pile are in full contact.
Charging pole body/charging pile:
- Check whether the charging spring leaf is deformed, stuck or in an abnormal position
- Check the contacts for dirt, moisture, oxides or other foreign matter.
- Recall whether the contact surface between the charging pile and the machine was subjected to impact, extrusion or other influences before the problem occurred
- Retest after cleaning the charging contacts
- If necessary, you can try using conductive grease at the contact point to improve the contact condition.
